Sting Black ECNL G13 Lomax – Slammers FC (National Championship Game)
An unbelievable run from Sting Black ECNL G13 Lomax finally comes to an end, as they fall to Slammers FC, 4 – 0, in the Championship Game. Congratulations to these girls for an incredible playoff performance and second place finish!
Sting Black ECNL G13 Lomax (W) – Legends FC
Continuing their magical run in pursuit of a National Championship, Sting Black tallied the first two goals of the contest to take a commanding 2 – 0 lead. Legends FC tried to battle back, scoring one mid-way through the second half to cut the lead to one, but Sting Black kept them from scoring the equalizer to punch their ticket to the Championship Game on Friday!
Sting Black ECNL G09 (L) – Portland Thorns
To kick off the fifth day of competition for Sting outside the Emerald City, Sting Black dueled the Portland Thorns to a 1 – 1 draw in regulation before falling, 4 – 2, in penalty kicks.
Sting Black G10 Orford (W) – Select ECNL G10
Battling back-and-forth for the entire 90 minutes, neither Sting Black nor Select could find the back of the net, forcing the second match of the day for Sting to also go to penalties. This time, Sting Black gained the upper hand in penalty kicks, winning 3 – 2.
Sting Royal G11 Williams (L) – Select ECNL G11
In the third contest of the day for Sting, Royal battled Select at 60 Acres Park. Both teams found the back of the net, but Select tallied a second goal that Royal was unable to match, losing 2 – 1.
Sting Black ECNL G11 Orford (W) – LA Breakers FC
Sting Black ended the fifth day of action on a high note, easily taking care of LA Breakers FC, 2 – 0, in their Showcase Cup showdown.
Sting Royal ECNL G13 Adames (W) – XF Academy
Sting Royal returned to form against XF Academy after a tough loss on Monday, taking home a 1 – 0 victory to kick off the fourth day of action in outside the Emerald City.
Sting Black ECNL G13 Lomax (W) – Matchfit Surf
Sting Black dominated Matchfit Surf, 4 – 0, to advance to the quarterfinals on Thursday, July 16, where they will battle Legends FC!
Sting Royal ECNL G12 Tatu (L) – Solar SC
Despite falling down 1 – 0 early, Royal battled back to tie the game at one before conceding a second goal. Undeterred, the battle-tested squad knotted the score at two apiece in the second half but couldn’t keep the game level, eventually losing a hard-fought contest, 4 – 2.
Sting Royal ECNL G09 Williams (L) – XF Academy
Regulation wasn’t enough to decide the contest between Royal and XF Academy to close out the day for Sting North Texas, so the pair headed to penalty kicks after a 1 – 1 stalemate. The two squads stayed on equal footing through the scheduled five, but XF Academy finally got the upper hand to win 7 – 6 in penalties.
Sting Black ECNL G13 Lomax (W) – Florida Premier FC
In a tight-knit contest, both teams exchanged multiple goals to knot it up at 2 – 2 and force penalties. There, Sting Black prevailed, 3 – 1, the third Sting victory by penalties in Seattle!
Sting Royal ECNL G13 Adames (L) – San Juan SC
In a hard-fought contest, both teams exchanged blows, but Sting Royal was unable to match the second tally from San Juan SC, falling 2 – 1 to end their tournament run.
Sting Royal ECNL G12 Tatu (W) – MVLA ECNL G11/12
Continuing their run of dominance in the Evergreen State, Sting Royal were in full control against MVLA, winning 3 – 1 to punch their ticket the next round and keep their championship hopes alive!
Sting Black ECNL G09 Orford (W) – FC Delco
Despite falling down 1 – 0, Sting Black continued to battle against FC Delco, but they were unable to break through and even the score, eventually losing 2 – 0.
Sting Black ECNL G11 Orford (W) – La Roca FC
In a mirror match of their 09 clubmates, Sting Black G11 were able to take the lead and stymie the opposition’s efforts for an equalizer. Proving their resilience, the team bounced back with an impressive win, 2 – 0.
Sting Royal ECNL G10 Williams (L) – Athletic Club Florida
After a dominant 5 – 1 victory in the team’s last game against Internationals SC, Sting Royal once again looked strong through 90 minutes as both teams netted two goals. However, Athletic Club got the edge in penalty kicks, 4 – 2.
Sting Royal ECNL G11 Williams (W) – Eastside FC
While Eastside FC was able to break through and finally score against Sting Royal G11, Sting tallied two of their own to take home the victory, 2 – 1, in their North American Cup contest.
Sting Black G10 Orford (W) – Tampa Bay United
Not to be outdone, Sting Black also ended the third day of competition in Seattle with a win, blanking Tampa Bay United, 2 – 0, in their Showcase Cup match.
Sting Black ECNL G11 Orford (L) – SLSG Navy
In a hard-fought game, Sting finally lost their 0 in Seattle, falling to SLSG Navy, 2 – 1, in the first game of Day 2.
Sting Royal ECNL G10 Williams (W) – Internationals SC
Sting Royal started Sunday with a dominant 5 – 1 victory of Internationals SC and cruising into the next round!
Sting Black ECNL G10 Orford (W) – Michigan Hawks
After ending regulation in a 1 – 1 stalemate, Sting Black and the Hawks headed to penalties. There, the Hawks were able to barely edge out Sting Black, 3 – 2.
Sting Black ECNL G09 Orford (W) – LV Heat Surf
A dominant game from Sting Black as they defeat the Surf, 3 – 0. The score was knotted at zero after a back-and-forth first half that featured several quality chances for both sides. Sting Black Goalkeeper Sienna Ryan was a major factor in keeping the Surf off the score sheet, including a sparkling stop diving to her left. The girls finally punched through mid-way through the second half and they never looked back, tallying all three goals in the latter part of the game.
Sting Royal ECNL G11 Williams – Eagles SC
Sting Royal broke through very early in the contest to take a 1 – 0 lead that they would never relinquish, blanking the Eagles to advance to the next round with a stalwart defensive effort before heading to the sidelines to cheer on Sting Royal G09.
Sting Royal ECNL G09 Williams – Matchfit Surf
In the final match of the day, Sting Royal conceded the first goal but, with the help of some halftime adjustments, were able to tie it up early in the second half. Unfortunately for Royal, Surf scored mid-way through the second half to retake the lead, and Sting was never able to find a second equalizer, falling 2 – 1.
That’s a wrap for a PERFECT Day 1! Sting North Texas finished a perfect 4 – 0, including two victories in Penalty Kicks.
Sting Royal ECNL G12 (W) – Arlington Soccer ECNL G12
What a way to start the action outside the Emerald City! After battling to a 0 – 0 stalemate in regulation, Sting Royal pulls through, 3 – 1, on penalties.
Sting Black ECNL G13 Lomax (W) – Arlington Soccer G13
Not to be outdone, Sting Black also takes home the victory in their first matchup in Seattle, besting Arlington Soccer, 3 – 2, to advance.
Sting Royal ECNL G13 Adames (W) – San Diego Surf G13
Sting Royal continued to roll in the first game of the afternoon slate, taking care of the San Diego Surf, 4 – 3, to punch their ticket to the next round.
Sting Royal ECNL G09 Williams (W) – Michigan Hawks G09
Following in the footsteps of their G12 club-mates from the morning, the Royal 09 squad dueled the Michigan Hawks to a 0 – 0 regulation finish before taking home the victory in dramatic fashion, 4 – 2, on penalty kicks.
