Hailing from Plano, Texas, Tyler Powell serves as Sting’s Athletic Director, overseeing fields, events and camps. He graduated from Wayland Baptist University with a BA in Management before attaining his master’s degree in Sports Administration from the University of Miami. After more than a decade of coaching soccer, Powell was named the Director of Coaching at FC Dallas before joining Sting in 2022.
In addition to coaching and his current role with Sting, Powell has served as the conference chair in the Red River Athletic Conference and Sooner Athletic Conference. He currently serves as the VP for fundraising for the Byron Nelson High School Booster Club and is the Founder and President of PITCH Life Association, a non-profit dedicated to helping under-privileged kids play sports. Outside of sports, Powell enjoys spending time with his family and smoking on the grill.
