Sting North Texas had multiple teams competing in the Dallas Cup, the U90C International Girls Cup, U90C Spring Boys Cup and Easter Cup last weekend.
Highlights from those tournaments include –
Sting Black ECNL 09G Orford being crowned the 2026 Dallas Cup Champions.
The team defeated Solar, FC Dallas Youth Blue, and Dallas Texans a combined 20 – 0 in the group stage. After defeating a second Solar SC team 5 – 0 in the Quarterfinals, they defeated Eintracht Frankfurt, 1 – 0, in the Semifinals to punch their ticket to the championship game. In the finals, the girls capped off their championship run by defeating another FC Dallas Youth squad, 1 – 0, to take home the crown.
Also on the Sting Black side, Sting Black ECNL 2012G Boyle, Sting Black RL 08G Asher and Sting Black RL 10G Asher all finished second in their divisions after deep tournament runs.
Turning to Sting Royal, Sting Royal RL 09G Soutar and Sting Royal ECNL 12G Tatu both won their divisions at the U90C International Girls Cup.
The 09 girls began their run by going 2 – 0 – 1 in the group stage, defeating HTX and Dallas Surf while drawing Solar Blue, 2 – 2. In the Semifinals, they avenged their draw, eliminating Solar Blue, 3 – 1, before defeating Dallas Surf, 5 – 1, in the championship game.
The 12 girls had an immaculate tournament run, not allowing a single goal throughout the weekend and winning all games in regulation. After going 3 – 0 and outscoring their opponents 42 – 0 in the group stage, they defeated Solar SC 7 – 0 in the Quarterfinals, BVB 2 – 0 in the Semifinals and HTX 4 – 0 in the championship game to complete their perfect weekend.
Also of note in the Girls International Cup were Sting NPL NTX Premier G13 Zambrano, Sting Pre-ECNL G14 Richardson and Sting Royal ECNL RL NTX G11 Soutar, who also made deep runs.
Zambrano’s girls went 2 – 0 – 1 in group stage before defeating Solar in penalties in the Semifinals and BVB, 2 – 1, in the championship game.
The Pre-ECNL girls went 1 – 2 in the group stage but rallied to defeat PAYD FC, 2 – 1, in the Quarterfinals and Dallas Surf, 2 – 0, in the Semifinals to punch their ticket to the finals. There they defeated Cosmos FC to win the consolation bracket.
The NTX G11’s went 1 – 1 – 1 in the group stage but defeated Steel United, BVB and Solar to take home the victory in the consolation bracket.
On the boys’ side, Sting B17 Lucero, Sting Pre-ECNL B16 Ortiz and Sting Pre-ECNL B15 Lucero all won their brackets in the U90C Spring Boys Cup and punch their tickets to the SuperCopa in Florida in June.
The B17 Lucero boys defeated Atletico Dallas, 7 – 2, in their final, B16 Ortiz bested DKSC, 3 – 2, and B15 Lucero beat Dallas Texans, 3 – 2, to close out their weekends.
Finally, Little Stingers Spring Sessions begin next week in North Texas and run through April 30! Training will be from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. at the Fort Worth Complex (1514 Baurline Rd, Fort Worth TX 76111) on Mondays, and at North Dallas ALC (17717 Coit Rd, Dallas TX 75252) on Tuesdays and at PIT Frisco (7255 Meadow Hill Dr, Frisco TX 75033) on Thursdays from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.
